I grew up in the South and now live in the Midwest. If you get my username then you know where. Happy to be in a Blue state and community. 💙
Does anyone know if the ebooks at bookshop.org work on a kindle? I can’t find specific info about it. I prefer reading on my paperwhite over other formats. @bookshop-org.bsky.social

I had a dream last night that #Target launched a new furnishings department that was basically a Targetified IKEA. It took up an entire floor and it had everything you could ever want to furnish/decorate your home. There’s a free billion idea for them. Take it, you’re welcome.

Is it a thing in the Midwest to not stop at stop signs when it’s snowing? I saw it twice today! I’m used to seeing people make rolling stops but these were people just flying through.

Now is a very good time to be good to each other. In part because you never know what anyone is going through, but also because you know that all of us have already been through so much.

I am definitely not parenting correctly at all times and my kids definitely get way too much screen time, but I am determined to give them a real childhood experience and break generational dysfunction.

Is it just me or do the illustrations in this book seem racist? Why do the black children have big cartoonish lips, but the other children have none?

The way boomer parents have failed their millennial children who now have children is so egregious and yet so unsurprising. Have they all just rotted their brains with TV, alcohol, mental health issues and addictions to the point they can barely function? Or is it just the boomer parents in my life?

Pinterest feels unusable now. I tried getting some garland inspiration for my mantle last night and everything was a sponsored post that opened a product listing if you clicked it. The creator-generated content is gone.

I was singing the Clapping Song to my daughter tonight and my husband thought I was just making it up. He’s never heard it before so I showed him proof that the song existed, but he still thought it’s weird. Um, UB40 got that line from somewhere. 😁

Everyone is talking about #Wicked and I know there is a new interest in the book (and series) by Gregory Maguire. But can we talk about how incredibly bizarre and unhinged his new Maracoor series is?

We’ll be doing Thanksgiving alone this year, just the nuclear fam, for the second time in a row. I’ve been feeling pretty sorry for myself about it. At least I don’t have to clean the house.

I requested a limit increase on my most used credit card as a safety net. I pay the balance off every month, I never miss payments, I have excellent credit (800+), and my only debt is the mortgage. I was denied because my “obligations are too high.” It’s not making sense to me.

Lots of people are sharing their “intuition” & “premonition” about something big coming. I feel it too. But I’m not expecting anything to happen. No one is coming to save us. Perhaps what we’re sensing is just the new world order coming. Or maybe a last kernel of hope after feeling utterly helpless.

So much for Dark Brandon going scorched earth before leaving office. I lost so much respect for him when he brought that criminal into the White House today. Disgusting.
