Comedians performing at the festival's headliners do not seem particularly concerned about the criticism - or the alleged wrongdoing. "One reporter was killed by the government - unfortunate, but not a fucking hill that I'm gonna die on," Jim Jefferies said on Theo Von's podcast in August, arguing it is for the greater good that "freedom-of-speech machines" such as himself bestow their
"edgy" material on the kingdom and its subjects. (Since making the comments, Jefferies has since disappeared from the festival's lineup; his representatives did not respond to inquiries about this.)
Distefano, chatting with Halkias, joked that an upside to the kingdom's repression of women is that his fiancee can't come with him. Mark Normand, on the other hand, joked he would bring his wife to show her how good she has it in America: "I want to be like, 'You see? You think I'm an asshole? Well, they'll cut your clit off, bitch."

Some comics were transparent about their willingness to ignore their moral convictions in order to play at the festival. "So what, they have slaves?" asked Tim Dillon in a podcast segment that led to his firing from the festival.
"They're paying me enough money to look the other way." Pete Davidson offered a similar take, acknowledging in a chat with Von that people have asked him why, given his father's death on 9/11, he would take a paycheck from the Saudi government. He did not address the criticism directly, but he did suggest he was happy to forget 9/11 for the right price: "I just know I get the routing, and then I see the number, and I go, T'll go?"

Trump just posted an AI video of himself promising every American access to this.

An increasingly popular conspiracy theory falsely centers around the existence of "med beds" a fabled medical instrument that does everything from reversing aging to regrowing missing limbs.
The theory has grown in popularity among followers of far-right movements like QAnon, some of whom claim to be urgently awaiting a med bed to treat severe health conditions.

Bannon was indicted in 2022 over his alleged role in the “We Build the Wall” fundraising campaign. He had faced up to 15 years if convicted.

Steve Bannon has pleaded guilty to defrauding donors in a border wall scheme, reversing an earlier not-guilty plea after landing on an agreement with New York prosecutors that will see him avoid a prison sentence.

In a New York courtroom on Tuesday, Bannon pleaded guilty to one count of scheme to defraud in the first degree. He was sentenced to a three-year conditional discharge and waived his right to appeal as part of the plea deal.

Under the agreement with prosecutors, Bannon cannot serve as an officer or director of a charity or not-for-profit group in New York state, nor can he hold assets for any charitable organizations.

Bannon, a longtime adviser to Donald Trump, was indicted by a Manhattan grand jury in 2022 on charges of money laundering, scheming to defraud and conspiracy over his alleged role in the “We Build the Wall” fundraising campaign. Prosecutors accused Bannon and three others of pocketing donors’ money instead of using all of the funds to build a wall along the southern U.S. border as promised.

Bannon had faced up to 15 years if convicted. Like the president, he has claimed without evidence that the criminal charges against him are politically motivated.

He had also faced federal charges over his role in the scheme but was pardoned by Trump in 2021. Unlike federal charges, the president can't pardon state charges, so Trump can't pardon Bannon in the New York state case.

Bannon served four months in prison last year for being in contempt of Congress after he defied a congressional subpoena to testify in the House select committee’s investigation into the Jan. 6 Capitol attack. Not even 20 minutes later and I guess we’re doing 50% tariffs on IKEA for some reason. He’s a man with a plan to make life more expensive and he can’t be stopped.

We will be imposing a 50% Tariff on all Kitchen Cabinets, Bathroom Vanities, and associated products, starting October 1st, 2025. Additionally, we will be charging a 30% Tariff on Upholstered Furniture. The reason for this is the large scale “FLOODING” of these products into the United States by other outside Countries. It is a very unfair practice, but we must protect, for National Security and other reasons, our Manufacturing process. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
