I haven't finished the episode yet but it reminded me that I once bought the Gin Blossoms album by accident because the shop put the wrong tape in the box.
I don't think it was that memorable other than the two hits but I too like it despite it being exactly the sort of music I don't like.

Listening to last week’s show to help get my Tuesday started on a very cold Canadian morning and this song came on. I have played it 4 times in row. Love it! Ironically 22 year old me would have hated it back in the day as I was an indie rock snob. Silly boy! Cheers loves!

I think the rules are different for debut albums though, the record company will assume the early singles won't get as much attention so they can hold back the big one until they can promote it as by an act with some history of success.
