This is so wild for a guy who campaigned on "America First"

Trump has no trouble finding a quick $40 billion for his friends in Argentina

but "can't find" the money that's already budgeted for US citizens.

“No Kings” is great , but we really don't get a functioning democracy back until we internalize, bone deep, the instinctive response to this and every other statement like it: “I don’t care what that rich guy thinks.”

Make it your morning affirmation. Say it ten times at the top of every hour.

At our old house, there was an elderly oak surrounded by younger trees. And yes, it was a friend. I greeted it when I passed by, and gave it a little pat.

I have made butternut squash ravioli with brown butter, sage, and toasted pine nuts and it is SO GOOD.

I wish I was better at plating things, else I'd take a picture.

A lot of 12 year olds are going to learn the phrase "op sec" in the next few years.

"Are those burner shoes?"
"I didn't think --"
"You're not SUPPOSED to fucking THINK, Skylar, you're supposed to follow FUCKING PROTOCOL."
“Inside the heel of the shoe, a small insert can be lifted to reveal the compartment. Then, parents can track the location of their child — or, at least their child’s shoes.”

I haven't had much to say lately.

Someone I love was in an awful accident a while back. They're doing ok now, thank God. Getting better every day.

What's weird is that now - weeks later - is when I've started to get panicky. Or sad. Or tired.

I tell myself: it's ok now. My brain says: I dunno.
