"is this abandoned/discontinued" or "update when" or similar are never appropriate comments. instead, tell the author your favorite things about the fic, what you're hoping to find out in future chapters, that you reread it all the time... that encourages authors way more than "where chapter"

I’d recommend everyone regardless of medical risk bring a mask on your airplane journey, a disinfectant wipe to clean the seat you’re in and hand sanitizer.

I said this over on the bird site, but a fic published a few years ago isn't "old." Fic writers aren't content machines, and you don't owe anyone a constant output of new works to remain relevant. Your stories don't become unreadable after a certain date. Fics don't expire.

I cannot stress this enough when you’re doing your last minute holiday shopping please keep in mind that these retail workers are human beings and deserve kindness and respect. It’s also not their fault you’re there doing your last minute shopping and if they’re out of items you want/need. Be kind.
