I wish cis people would understand just how stressful it is when every time there's news of gun deaths, far right trolls immediately jump to social media and claim the shooter is trans, and sometimes they'll circulate pictures of random trans women they want to incite violence against.

Just for fun, name two completely unrelated movies that share the same director

It's weird to not only have lived through an information revolution but also now living through its undoing, all within less than a generation.
Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

The story told here--one where anecdata suggests agency and autonomy have run amok and nameless activists are to blame--certainly rhymes with the NYT's disastrous panic about trans kids. Then you realize it's literally being written by the same author.
Autism rates have increased in recent decades, but the reasons are more complicated than what Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has presented. Hear more on today's episode of "The Daily." nyti.ms/480eqtm

A movie that takes place where you’re from

For better or for worse

I think it's a part of how we got here that a lot of people are able to spot when Trump is being cruel but can't spot when they themselves are as well
My grandson was referred to Make a Wish while on a ventilator in January.

Let’s not compare a fascist to children recovering from traumatic medical events and terminal illness.

The way some folks will throw disabled people & children under the bus to get a joke off is disgusting.

This experiment is the best. Not only did the Batman group outscored the control group for prosocial behavior 67.21% to 37.66%, but reality blindness kicked on causing 44% of the experimental group to be unable to remember Batman.
Science will often take you to unexpected and delightful places. In this study, researchers hypothesized that riders in a crowded subway car would be more likely to offer their seat to a pregnant person if there were someone in the subway car dressed as Batman 🧪🦇

Since I'm sitting in an airport at the moment, I figured I'd say, when people used to dress up to fly, flying was still a luxury thing to do, planes weren't an exercise in seeing how many seats can physically fit into a plane, and there wasn't the security world we have now.
Trump's Transportation Secretary on how to improve air travel:

"People dress up like they're going to bed when they fly... We want to push people as we come into a really busy travel season, help people out, be in a good mood, dress up"

This little video doesn't capture it super well, but it's the art installation "Sky's the Limit" (1987) by tube lighting and mirror artist Michael Hayden. I first saw this in 1988 when it was still pretty brand new, and I was too tbh

If you are a trans game dev, artist, writer, streamer or YouTuber, reply here with a link to your work. Only one rule: no GenAI.💜

Wish I’d gotten that job, but I was on the young end of the ages they were looking for 😭

Suppose I’ll settle for my dubious distinction of being the trans girl cast in the 2011 Super Bowl commercial launching Dove’s men’s line.

It was… a bit on the nose 😅
