I really hope Square Enix takes a look at restoring WotL content and offering some kind of multiplayer component for The Ivalice Chronicles. It would do so much for adding more to the game beyond the story itself, and do a better job of rewarding well-built, min-maxed characters.

What I mean is that each of these games had bonus content that restored some of the challenge - FF5 had extra classes and content, FF1 had the bonus dungeon, and FFT: WotL had Rendezvous missions and the Melee PVP. All of that content tests your system mastery in a way the base games don't.

But I feel like this game has a problem that shows up in nearly every Square Enix FF remaster, and it's that they keep cutting out rerelease/extra content that served as a good place to let loose for people who really dig into the games' systems. It happened with FF1, FF5, and now here.

I say this because Tactician doesn't actually scale up any human enemies in the battles to deal with any grinding YOU'VE done. It's still difficult, mind - the final fight in Chapter 1 very nearly went too far south to recover, saved by a last ditch Blizzara by my Time Mage on one HP and a dream.

Just finished chapter one of #FinalFantasyTactics' remaster. The voice work gets much better after initial impressions, which at first made me want to ship the VAs a case of Red Bull. The gameplay updates are fantastic - fast forward is a godsend for grinding. Tactician difficulty is an odd duck.

The Tactics remaster is out. I'm pretty chuffed. The only things I take issue with are the missing content (GOD, multiplayer would have SLAPPED) and the Tactician difficulty not scaling enemy units in story battles (though Milleuda having monk abilities got me good and messed up in her first fight.)

Beyond that I'm absolutely in love with the remake and I can't believe how badly I needed a smooth, simple way to replay this game. I'm falling in love with it all over again.

I just keep hoping against hope we get the WOTL content someday. Argath has to die twice. HE HAS TO.

Also, losing the multiplayer is a missed opportunity, I feel. Co-op rendezvous missions would have been a smash hit on PC, and the Melee PVP would have been a great reason to grind new units.

So, just for folks in the cheap seats: yes I am a big guy. Yes I'm attempting to lose weight (there's going to be a short gap in my medication, but I'll figure it out.)
