I’m really not sure this is the answer. Smart phones are a way of life in 2025. Living in denial of this fact isn’t going to help children

Obviously they can’t be playing games in class but they can be a learning aid. If we have Airplane Mode why not School Mode? www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Ban phones throughout the school day, Phillipson tells teachers
The education secretary says phones should not been seen during lessons, breaktimes or lunchtime.

Greens must now be in with a great chance of winning the Gorton by election now. And if they do that’s significant as it will show reluctant Labour loyalist voters that Greens can win up and down the country and switch votes confidently at the general election

A bit of patience is needed for the Rayan announcement. It’s a lot easier to hop on a flight from Europe, sign the contract then go back and sort out your belongings than from Brazil

I doubt he’ll even be in UK until at least Sunday with the announcement maybe Tuesday or Wednesday. #afcb

Some real ale weirdos on my FB saying Guinness is shite as it tastes like a “black larger”

In fact black lager is a style of beer enjoyed for hundreds of years in Europe and is almost certainly superior to whatever you are drinking. Definitely worth trying a Budweiser Dark or Kostritzer
January 23, 2026 at 5:55 PM
There’s a worrying trend of unscrupulous of property developers buying property next to established businesses then lobbying councils to shut them down on frivolous noise complaints

The #afcb stadium plans were always going to get improved but a useful precedent set hopefully for future objections

Oh FFS they aren’t still going on about banning the Tel Aviv hooligans. It’s Mahmood who needs to go not the Chief Constable.

And shame on every single person in the media who refuses who allow the government and Isreal lobby to gaslight the public as to why the hooligans were banned
January 14, 2026 at 2:58 PM
Despite what the Torygraph tell you, the situation pubs are in now is just as much the previous government’s fault as Labour

That said, Labour are so bad at politics to lose control of the narrative on this. Pubs are important to a lot of people and so naive to not anticipate a backlash
January 13, 2026 at 12:45 PM
I used to say this on “Twitter” regularly that the order you sign players, or are either even linked, isn’t necessarily the same priority of those doing the transfers

“Why have we signed a 14yo winger for the youth team when we need a…whatever”
January 12, 2026 at 8:50 PM
The sell on clause for Semenyo is pointless. He is 26 and entering his peak value now. Even if he does great for City, they aren’t going to sell him above this price when he’s 29
January 8, 2026 at 6:21 PM
We all know the media is institutionally biased against Labour but I really can’t believe being pro drink driving is the hill they are prepared to die on to brainwash the public Labour is evil

Surely the majority of people are anti drink driving and will wake up to the nonsense UK media push

Why do Spurs fans always save their biggest meltdowns for losing to #afcb

They lose so often to us these days, it’s hardly a shock anymore. And since Spurs lose to so many different opponents, they aren’t spoiled for choice as to when they can have a meltdown

Darren Jones is such a let down. On the Select Committee as an opposition MP he was brilliant, asking very awkward questions to powerful executives, including Americans. Just like Starmer, he can’t surely believe what he has to say in these interviews.
January 5, 2026 at 8:36 AM
Who in the media will challenge the government on this. Most in the media rely X for clicks and revenue

Will any opposition MPs? The Tories and Reform won’t as they condone Musk and the values he stands for
January 2, 2026 at 1:24 PM
The FTSE passing 10k in itself is not bad. But the same question applies if it was a Tory government - who is benefiting from the success of our largest corporations?

And if they are all doing so well, are they not able to either pay more tax and / or give their employees a pay rise?
January 2, 2026 at 10:59 AM
I remember during the Brexit campaign, the Daily Mail promoting leave as we could replace Poles and Romanians with people from the old British Empire

Now they have realised this meant “brown people” so now seem to be bemoaning the Poles and Romanians leaving 🤷🏻‍♂️

This is what you campaigned for!!!
December 30, 2025 at 1:22 PM
I’ve no idea how accurate this is. If true it would confirm my suspicion that most of the noise coming from the pub industry against Labour is from the big corporate PubCOs / Breweries who have probably been Tory / Reform donors all along
December 29, 2025 at 3:34 PM
I see the topic of stripping dual nationals of their British citizenship has come up again. When are the same demands going to be made of Yaxley-Lennon next time he ends up facing prison?
December 29, 2025 at 11:23 AM
Most of the people complaining about no Boxing Day football appear to be either

A) people who don’t realise football exists outside the PL
B) armchair fans who demand PL football on TV no matter how much it inconveniences match day fans

Probably quite a bit of overlap here
December 26, 2025 at 7:57 PM
No one can have any issue with Antoine getting his move. It’s a shame it’s in January but we’d be worse off had it been last summer. Foley is probably guilty of signing too many good players at once! Now is the chance for the slightly less impactful players to step up #afcb
December 23, 2025 at 8:06 PM
I remember on the other place there was a guy who would defend her pay year after year. Now normally when a company makes excessive profits I’d like to see a better deal for customers. I’m not sure that’s appropriate for gambling firms. The solution surely is more tax www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Bet365 boss Denise Coates's pay package rises to £280m
Denise Coates, the founder and chief executive of Bet365, is consistently one of Britain's highest-paid bosses.

Rob Key shouldn’t be sacked because England players might have been drinking in Noosa. He should be sacked for pretending he had no idea this was the purpose of the trip. Obviously trying to save his own skin
December 23, 2025 at 11:39 AM
So if (reducing) immigration really is that important, Labour should be riding high in the polls as it’s on their watch this fall has occurred

Of course it doesn’t work like. People are too busy believing what Billionaires tell them to think

*I am NOT saying reducing immigration is good*
December 21, 2025 at 1:15 PM
You don’t have to agree with Zack Polanski on everything to know that if a Labour MP is both siding him with someone like Farage, then just how far to the right they have drifted. I don’t actually believe the majority of Labour MPs believe what they are ordered to say
We face huge challenges. A burning planet, war in Europe, an affordability crisis that most people think they will live with *for the rest of their lives*.

And what do Farage and Polanski offer? Division. Migrants vs. non-migrants. Businesses vs. workers.
December 20, 2025 at 12:08 PM
I complain about working from office a lot I know. Every night out of Paddington every train is standing room only until 10pm. What is the solution. We aren’t going to get HS3+ in our lifetime. But people are forced to commute to London everyday day
December 17, 2025 at 9:19 PM
I’m very naive as to how business rates work but I would like to think huge rates apply to large office blocks

Surely we should be encouraging people to WFH to save commute costs and free up office space for residential property instead of hammering small businesses and hospitality
