Most of the people complaining about no Boxing Day football appear to be either

A) people who don’t realise football exists outside the PL
B) armchair fans who demand PL football on TV no matter how much it inconveniences match day fans

Probably quite a bit of overlap here

No one can have any issue with Antoine getting his move. It’s a shame it’s in January but we’d be worse off had it been last summer. Foley is probably guilty of signing too many good players at once! Now is the chance for the slightly less impactful players to step up #afcb

I remember on the other place there was a guy who would defend her pay year after year. Now normally when a company makes excessive profits I’d like to see a better deal for customers. I’m not sure that’s appropriate for gambling firms. The solution surely is more tax www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Rob Key shouldn’t be sacked because England players might have been drinking in Noosa. He should be sacked for pretending he had no idea this was the purpose of the trip. Obviously trying to save his own skin
December 23, 2025 at 11:39 AM
So if (reducing) immigration really is that important, Labour should be riding high in the polls as it’s on their watch this fall has occurred

Of course it doesn’t work like. People are too busy believing what Billionaires tell them to think

*I am NOT saying reducing immigration is good*
December 21, 2025 at 1:15 PM
You don’t have to agree with Zack Polanski on everything to know that if a Labour MP is both siding him with someone like Farage, then just how far to the right they have drifted. I don’t actually believe the majority of Labour MPs believe what they are ordered to say
We face huge challenges. A burning planet, war in Europe, an affordability crisis that most people think they will live with *for the rest of their lives*.

And what do Farage and Polanski offer? Division. Migrants vs. non-migrants. Businesses vs. workers.

I complain about working from office a lot I know. Every night out of Paddington every train is standing room only until 10pm. What is the solution. We aren’t going to get HS3+ in our lifetime. But people are forced to commute to London everyday day
December 17, 2025 at 9:19 PM
I’m very naive as to how business rates work but I would like to think huge rates apply to large office blocks

Surely we should be encouraging people to WFH to save commute costs and free up office space for residential property instead of hammering small businesses and hospitality
December 14, 2025 at 1:13 PM
I don’t see the Farage story on the BBC despite it being widely reported elsewhere. It’s almost as if they are trying to bury the story for as long as possible hoping it will go away

There is FEWM over a bar selling a 21% stout at £25 for 1/3 pint. It sounds a lot but comparable to a high end glass of port which is a similar abv

If you enjoy a luxury beer why not? It’s obviously not a drink for a session! Most I have paid is €28 for a bottle of Westvleteren 12
December 7, 2025 at 1:01 PM
One of Labour’s issues is being able to control the media narrative. They naively thought, from before they were even elected, that if they appeased the right wing media they would go softer

Reality check! The media will always hate everything a Lab government does and will twist everything

But not like this!
The right need to make their mind up about birth rates. Do they want couples to have more babies or do they want to punish people for having more babies?

These people who claim they bought their house for 57p in 1976 and it’s now worth £7m therefore mansion tax is unfair

You are wrong!

This is precisely why you should be taxed. This is unearned wealth through fortune of circumstances

Maybe just me but have beer prices stabilised over the past 6 months or so? Not “cheap” but paid £6.70 for a 5.5% pint of keg Porter from an Indy brewery in City of London earlier. German lagers coming in just over £6 mark

Perhaps Madri, Neck Oil and Guinness still going up everywhere🤷🏻‍♂️

If capitalists continue to squeeze jobs, have they thought what will happen when no one has any money to buy their products? Is next year’s dividend really more important than the breakdown in society which is coming in the next 5 to 10 years if this continues?
November 17, 2025 at 12:07 PM
It was $1b it’s now $5b. Why appeasement never works since the goalposts always move

Not that this lawsuit is ever going to go anywhere but it’s time for BBC to draw a line under this now. Oh and maybe our government can politely tell Trump to F off
The Orange Geriatric Felonious Game Show Host can fuck right off with this.

Seriously, you would think he would have bigger things to be concerned about.

I’m not sure I can in good faith continue to use the BBC following their capitulation to the far right. Me no longer using their website isn’t going to make the slightest difference I know. Once Torygraph acolytes get hold of the BBC, the slow creep to fascism moves closer to a cliff edge
November 9, 2025 at 9:58 PM
I agree the number of people out of work is too high but isn’t this a case where employees could be more flexible with remote working? Commuting is hard enough as it is let alone for those with mobility issues. Perhaps those with anxiety could contribute more at home? www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Reeves pre election pledge not to raise income tax was foolish. Even if she only puts 1% on those earning over 75k, the right wing press will be telling all of us it’s a betrayal of ordinary people. The roundabout painters will then work themselves into a frenzy that they are the only ones impacted

Can’t say I noticed it being particularly dull here by October standards. Seen quite a lot of sunshine and showers but maybe it’s been different up north and UK as a whole
☀️The UK has had its dullest October in almost 60 years, according to provisional Met Office statistics.

🌡️Temperatures were above average

🌧 Rainfall was just below average, with much regional variation

Why does society always have to be geared towards extroverts? And what’s wrong with reading things on a phone? It’s no different to reading a paper or book
