Hi Maria, thank you for your comment. No, I don't think the healthcare systems are ready. Unfortunately, there are quite a few aspects to be taken into account. Even with disease-modifying treatments coming.

Are you interested in the estimated #prevalence of #dementia in Europe? 🇪🇺
The @alzheimereurope.bsky.social website just got an upgrade including interactive graphics, visualising the projections by country: www.alzheimer-europe.org/dementia/pre...
ine chart titled 'Country estimates of people living with dementia (including projections for 2025 & 2050)' showing data for Luxembourg. The x-axis shows age groups (30–59, 60–64, 65–69, 70–74, 75–79, 80–84, 85–89, 90+). The y-axis shows number of people (0–5,000). Three lines represent years: 2018 (blue), 2025 (orange), 2050 (green). Across all age groups, projected numbers rise sharply by 2050, especially from age 70 upwards, peaking around 5,000 in the 90+ group. Source: Dementia in Europe Yearbook 2019.

It was a pleasure to collaborate with Alzheimer Europe to co-host an important lunch debate on new research and developments in preventing Alzheimer and other memory-disabling diseases.

With a full room, we had experts from across Europe sharing updates and opportunities from various projects💡❤️‍🩹

A promotional graphic from Alzheimer Europe inviting European residents aged 18 and over to take part in a public opinion poll on dementia research. On the right side, a blue speech bubble contains key information about the poll:

“We are inviting all European residents (aged 18+) to take part in our public opinion poll.”

“No prior experience with dementia research needed”

    “Available in 12 languages”

“Takes approximately 10 minutes to complete”

“Your input will help shape future research and data sharing”
