Over on the Elon app I was running a year's long #CM9798 save managing Crystal Palace with only Brit players. Since moving to Blue Sky, I've wanted to recap it here.
Season 1 we offloaded most the foreigners whilst managing to stay up, thanks to Kenny Miller having a player of the year performance.

The match is passé and there are two on the same show. The cash-in makes faces look cowardly, titles look cheap, and the company looks incompetent.
Why would a sport allow a way for its biggest prize to be won in such an unsporting manner?

AEW is a success, and the doomers, grifters, and WWE PR puppets know they can't deny it anymore. You can tell because they are trying to spell a new narrative that it was never possible for them to fail.

WWE's top storyline is that there is an evil executive on the board who abuses his power in an attempt to own his subordinate's souls and satisfy his lust for control over people.
I wonder what inspired it.

This scratches the surface of the many examples of WWE's over-production, causing an inauthenticity in their product beyond the work done inside the ropes.
WWE's environment of forced, over-the-top fan reactions and commentary ultimately diminishes the authenticity and impact of genuine moments.

So, have WWE started doing the US national anthem for all their non-Wrestlemania PPVs, or did they start in Canada?

I haven't watched the Cody and Rock promo, but from what I've read here, it was 27 minutes long, and the only point of note is that Rock wants Cody's soul. OK.

It's funny how the narrative to this fued has jumped from 'what on earth has Harley Cameron done to deserve this title match?' to 'of course, Harley Cameron has to win, or else AEW will blow another opportunity to make a new babyface star'.
This is my instinct too. We haven't seen the struggle yet. As long as they invest TV time into her, and she gets better in front of our eyes, it will be more meaningful when she finally overcomes.
I really don't get the argument for Harley Cameron winning on Saturday.
She almost surely gets much more out of losing a close, great match and then milking a standing ovation afterwards.

Whatever opens the show is the real main event.
Should Toni Storm and Mariah May be the main event at the AEW Grand Slam?

Meltzer's Raw on Netflix analysis estimates Nielsen equivalent, US same day viewership at just above a million 😬
There is a lot of educated guesswork, as Netflix are being notably obtuse with the numbers they release but this looks like a story to follow.

I've been picking out bits of Raw, and geez Seth Rollins is a dork. I mean, he always has been, but his current character is the pits.
Can someone let him in on the rib? We've all known someone who thinks wacky clothes are a substitute for a personality.

@luna1000.bsky.social and began watching the UFW-I Bushido series around the time we saw this match live at the Network.
Whilst definitely leaning more into a pro wrestling style, this has the thrilling intensity of a struggle captured so absorbingly in peak shoot-style wrestling.
