Someone pointed out (I forget whom) that Evangelion kinda plays like a deconstruction of the harem genre nowadays. Not only does Shinji NOT end up romantically linking with any of the female characters but arguably the closest he gets to a love interest was this angel boy! (1/2)

What is your favorite EVA character?

Mine is Misato Katsuragi! Her dual nature is absolutely fascinating. A lively, hard-working and capable leader at work but at home a sloppy and free-spirited party girl!

Allison Keith did a brilliant job bringing this character to live in the original dub.

Happy 30th anniversary to one of the all time greatest shows. I'll never forget my first time viewing it in college and how it helped broaden my perspective on anime as a medium. Heck, story-telling in general.

I've certainly watched this series all the way through more than any other.

No one, and I mean NO ONE, in Hollywood is talking about Tilly Norwood except over drinks for a chuckle. Actors are such an important part of the creative process - you want an actor who can surprise you every take, not one whose performance you dial up and down on a laptop. This is an ad campaign.

In case you think I'm reaching the movie was directed by James Whale (who lived as an openly gay man in the 30's Hollywood). Seriously, if you haven't watched Bride of Frankenstein in a while, that movie in particular is RIPE with queer subtext. (2/2)

Watched The Old Dark House (1932) last night and absolutely LOVE this absolutely chilling sequence, especially with the shots of the old woman's reflection from the broken mirrors.

Fair enough, the reason I asked is because I saw the LOTR movies when I was young but never got REALLY into them despite being great films.

It was after reading the books recently that I've become way more interested in the world of Middle Earth. I overall prefer the books to the movies.
