Randomly watched this purely because the plot sounded intriguing (a blues singer who does private detective work on the side). Very neo-noir and shot with that cool 80's blue tint that I always dig. The grimy city of Yokohama provides for an alluring backdrop.

I feel like it doesn't get talked about enough how great Eastwood's acting is when he delivers the "Do you feel lucky?" speech again at the end of Dirty Harry. Love how it contrasts so heavily.

I legit pray a lot that I DON'T grow into being a grumpy old man constantly bad-mouthing "kids these today." Nothing wrong with nostalgia in moderation but too much leads to flattening of the past and leaves one vulnerable to horrific ideologies. (1/2)

William Friedkin's follow-up to The Exorcist and while it's not a horror movie it certainly contains some of the most nerve-wracking suspense sequences you'll ever experience. Great ensemble cast and music by Tangerine Dream.
Highly recommended for those that love gritty fearless 70's cinema.

I read Gilgamesh recently and there is ZERO question the Bible took inspiration from it when it came to Noah's Flood myth. Enkidu origin story also contains elements similar to Adam and Eve AND a snake plays the role of a trickster (sound familiar?).

Caught this one on Tubi and its a nice gem! Its a time loop movie but unlike Groundhog Day or Edge of Tomorrow, multiple people are conscious of the mysterious phenomenon which imo went a long way it helping to distinguish it and lead to some pretty fun unique scenarios.

Just got back from seeing Predator Badlands and thought it was an incredibly solid sci-fi action flick and contains probably my favorite ensemble of characters for a Predator film since the second one. I got really sucked into the story and the dashes of humor from Elle Fanning worked well for me.
