I genuinely can't imagine being mad about Lupita Nyong'o being cast in anything. What's the issue here exactly? Being subjected to too good of a performance from a woman who's too beautiful?

Just realized I have to add The Replacements (2000) to my list of "Movies I Will Always Love In Spite Of The Plot's Politics Being Fucked."
For all the criticism it gets, one show that still does this regularly (and well, imo) is Rick & Morty.
Lots of references to obscure TV, sci-fi films, and even literature (the numerous Joseph Campbell references alone are compelling me to finally read The Hero With A Thousand Faces).
