I would crawl over broken glass to vote for a politician whose platform could be summarized by "I will run the government like an adult using the best research to make decisions and will stay out of cultural issues by reminding people to 'mind their own damned business' as much as possible."

I keep coming back to this, because it is important to keep in mind, I think, given recent goings-on re: trans exclusion. The culture has changed *a lot* over the past 20 years and transphobes won't be able to undo that with politics, billionaire lawfare, transphobic EHRC guidance, or whatever.
I think this prediction is holding up pretty well, and maybe I should have noted the failure of the Turn Charlie Kirk Into A Martyr moment might have been the pinnacle of the phenomenon. In some deep way I think the New Right Loser Men fail to understand what state power can and can't do for them.
