I'm gonna be real something that irritates me is the incessant, insufferable drive for people to be constantly "funny" and absolutely nothing else, ever. Everything must be a one liner, a shitpost, low-effort meme-talk.

It's not religion behind the resurgent moral panic about LBGTQ people in the USA. You don't get a 15% shift beliefs in a year due to growing religious sentiment. It's cynical opportunists trying to ride to power on populist sentiment by delegating and demonizing an outgroup.

The internet collapsing into a sea of its own misinfo is an inevitability. With shit like SEO and AI ruining any possibility of making practical achievement in tech ventures, I’m starting to wonder if I was wrong about capital being subservient to technique first.

twitter being replaced would be a great thing, but consider also the even better possibility that it just dies and nothing replaces it, and people just go outside instead.
