Introduced to Angela Lansbury after the 2011 Olivier Awards, I said, “It’s a pleasure to meet you: you ruined my life.”
She blinked.
“When I was 15,” I continued, “I went to see you in Gypsy and was flabbergasted. And I assumed that all musicals were as thrilling as that, and that all leading 1/2

OCTOBER 16, 1935: SIR JOHN REITH SITS IN HIS OFFICE IN THE NEWLY-BUILT BROADCASTING HOUSE. HIS CHIEF ENGINEER KNOCKS DISCREETLY
"Come!"
"Sir John, I have very good news and some...less good news."
"Yes?"

Quite a handsome brute & I think he knows it.

I think they are. Prefer Rowntrees' Pastilles/Gums to New Bury Fruits.
The British Ambassador to France was probably the most likely to have had his wish granted. I wonder what Duff Cooper would've said, if he'd been in the job then?
This reminds me of when I first went to live in Paris and one of the newspapers asked world leaders what their greatest wish for Christmas was. The likes of the Dalai Lama asked for world peace, others an end to child poverty etc...the British Ambassador asked for a box of New Berry Fruits.
thinking about the time a cool Instagram fashion account asked me to name my favorite products and i didn't know i was supposed to name fashion products, so i said pigeon food because i like feeding pigeons and their followers were like "why the fuck do i need pigeon food for my outfit?"
I know, so vivid yet so far away. The children's memory of him are three photos that used to be in my sister's living room. They can't recall him directly which is a loss.

I trust that you're all well. I'm just off to Bridge; my equivalent of Dad's racing. C xx

About 2 months ago it was kinda edgy to call this a bubble and now...
Bubbles are good, actually…

“Of course there’s a bubble,” said Hemant Taneja, chief executive of venture capital firm General Catalyst, which raised an $8bn fund last year and has backed Anthropic and Mistral. “Bubbles are good. Bubbles align capital and talent in a new trend, and that creates some carnage but it also creates enduring, new businesses that change the world.”
I put it down to #TheArchers, why else would a 20 something want to follow me 🤔
Don't raise the Valet's hopes to dash'em later.

Once again, I ask - without trying to being overly alarmist - what anyone has seen since January to make them believe the 2026/28 elections will be free, fair, & democratic by any meaningful definitions of the words.

17/18 years ago I lived on a house on a gentle slope, but the ground was clay. Severe storm, rain poured down gardens & side roads, Victorian drains couldn't cope. Fountains appearered from manhole covers. Water came about 6"-9" inches from the front door. Was so lucky.
