I’m teaching abt Red Summer today, when white vigilantes & National Guardsmen across the country harassed, detained, assaulted, & murdered Black Americans as part of a backlash against Black military service in WWI.

Bray is a historian at Rutgers who received death threats after landing on Turning Points USA's Professor Watchlist. As a result, he announced he was moving to Europe. And then this happened.

This kind of harassment and abuse of scholars is Charlie Kirk's legacy and it's only getting worse.

“Someone” cancelled my family’s flight out of the country at the last second.

We got our boarding passes. We checked our bags. Went through security. Then at our gate our reservation ‘disappeared.’

I’ve received multiple death threats + doxing (including my home address) directly following harassment from Turning Point USA, Jack Posobiec, Andy NGO, + Fox News which called me an antifa ‘financier.’

I have been forced to move my classes online.

If journalists want to talk, DM me or reply here.

This week, MAGA figures claimed Kristi Noem "stared down" violent antifa protesters in Portland. Turns out they were talking mostly about a guy in a chicken suit.

This episode opens a window into how MAGA propaganda works and MSM failure to handle it. 1/

MAGA Implodes over Kristi Noem’s “Stare Down” with Man in Chicken Suit
A good New York Times piece on Portland nevertheless demonstrates how the conventions of objective reporting fail to accurately capture the bad faith driving pro-Trump propaganda.

“Are these tariffs ‘Liberation Day 2’?” Or will we get another ‘TACO Tuesday?’

This is how we all talk now. Absurd. 🌮

Is Argentina now the new 51st state? Imagine taking healthcare away from American so they can help soybean farmers in Argentina.

China bought a quarter of Argentina's soybean crop on Sept. 23, 7 million metric tons. www.usatoday.com/story/opinio...

People misunderstand MAGA fiscal policy. They never say we can’t afford health care, food support, foreign aide, etc. They say they don’t want it. They just hate the people who depend on it.

Happy to reshare our new Annual Review paper, which explores what it really means to exceed and return to 1.5 °C.

For many in the Global South, overshoot isn’t a temporary “phase” but an existential condition.

This piece asks what it means for justice, recovery & resilience in a world above 1.5 °C

71% of immigrants detained by ICE have no criminal convictions.

These are mostly private, for-profit prisons that put their bottom lines over health and safety. We see the results — immigrants are dying. It is absolutely outrageous.

Last night, I received notification of the 19th death of a detained person in ICE custody since Trump took office.

ICE is detaining people, mostly in private, for-profit prisons that put profit over health. And now they have furloughed the safety inspectors. This is unacceptable.

This shit's been going on forever in Louisiana. Mike Johnson, Steve Scalice, Clay Higgins, and Julia Letlows' districts are all strategically racially drawn to exclude the black, brown, and Asian votes. Voter intimidation is also alive and well in Louisiana and that's why I left that shithole state.
