I’m not sure Pearl Jam gets the credit for choosing to do and nailing the cover of “Last Kiss” you could see a latter day Eddie Vedder doing it but they were still on fire prime Rock elite when they dropped it on the fan club and later the benefit album that spawned the single.

Not sure Ray LaMontagne’s “Jolene” gets the respect it gets. Maybe because I’m wined up in my 50s having finished a game of Yahtzee with my family and remember a time when this song felt autobiographical.

I will say this, Republicans will not win when the subject is healthcare. Even their most dedicated cult members know they offer nothing.
