Even when they show signs of weakness or forced regret, we must not give an inch. Authoritarian governments still respond to public opinion, which is why sustained pressure matters. We have to keep making clear that these thuggish actions are unconscionable and will not be tolerated. Don’t let up.

Trump’s immigration actions are a classic bait & switch. He campaigned on deporting violent criminals. Instead, he’s deporting moms with their (sometimes American citizen) kids, good neighbors & hard workers; people who pay taxes & provide the labor we need.

It has officially happened. I have been officially let go from my position at CDC. I wasn’t a probationary employee. I had stellar performance reviews every year.
