Patch alert! He must have made a New Year’s resolution to swim laps to lose weight. Made it across and back twice. Keep at it, bud.

#speckles&spots for #birdoftheday made me think of this Barn Owl. I kept seeing a Canyon Wren dive thru a crack in the rock shelf above a cliff, from below it was apparent the crack was huge! A little exploration and…OMG! Had time for a couple shots before it was gone. Northern Nevada
Tucked into a deep rock cleft an owl stands on a ledge, head leaning out to see what was making all the noise. Eyes staring into the camera, white facial disc, brilliant white breast with speckles of gold. Copious white shjt coating the rock below…

Coyote on the shore - taken in September when I stumbled across the pack while kayaking at sunrise. This was one of my favourite moments of 2025. #mammals 🌿
