you would think governments might have a vested interest in telling microsoft "no you can't do that" but i suspect they look at it as an opportunity to incentivize consumer spending and synthetically juice the economy

The nativist right keeps talking about “heritage Americans.” It's a buzzword engineered to move the goalposts on immigration even further, argues @alibreland.bsky.social.
Are You a ‘Heritage American’?
Why the far right wants to know if your ancestors were here during the Civil War.

So a couple people have now hinted at the idea that Black people didn’t have it so bad post-9/11 because Muslims had it bad. This ignores that there were and are a lot of Black Muslims. This also ignores that more than one group of people can be targeted for state violence. It’s never just one group

The fall of Roe has made pregnancy unsafe in America…
Even if you live in a blue state.

They want to control our bodies, and if we die because of it? That’s considered an acceptable loss.

Avoid period tracker apps. Don’t discuss your cycle or pregnancy online. Discretion could save you.

To be clear:

LA County has declared a state of emergency BECAUSE OF the federal government.

The Feds, LA County is (correctly) saying, have CAUSED the emergency.

This is a striking political moment of internal collapse. Local govts feeling compelled to protect their ppl from … their own govt.

Pete Hegseth hasn’t briefed Pentagon reporters in FOUR MONTHS.

The DoD’s own press secretary, Kingsley Wilson, hasn’t briefed reporters for TWO MONTHS.

The Pentagon is now, effectively, a dark site.

Meanwhile, the world’s largest military continues to assassinate dozens in international waters.

Digital painting showing a fiery, apocalyptic landscape somewhere in North America, several months after the Chicxulub Impact. Two partridge-like birds forage in the foreground, illuminated by the orange flow of distant wildfires. Looming above waves/piles of carcasses & logs is the charred skull of the iconic horned dinosaur Triceratops. Digital paintings of the trilobite Gabriceraurus, the gastropod Trochonema, the crinoid Iocrinus, the cystoid Pleurocystites, the nautiloid Plectoceras, the bryozoan Constellaria, & the brachiopods Hiscobeccus & Platystrophia in a poster format on a white background.
