Agriculture is the number one source of river pollution in the UK.

If we want to get serious about cleaning up our rivers, we need to get serious about moving away from intensive agriculture.

It's often claimed factory farming is needed to provide cheap food, but there are so many hidden costs.

A new report from the Conservative Animal Welfare Foundation found pig and poultry farms in Britain take £269 million a year in subsidies: https://bit.ly/48h41bF

We really shouldn't need to still be debating this.

There are countless studies that show fish are intelligent, sensitive creatures that are capable of suffering and feeling pain.
The surprisingly profound debate over whether fish feel pain
We can never prove that other animals are conscious. What do we do with that?

The number of megafarms has grown fast.

Our research found that UK megafarms increased from 974 in 2016 to 1,176 in 2023 – a rise of 20% in 7 years.

We need to stop the spread and end factory farming.

Not only would it be incredibly cruel, but octopus farming would negatively impact already overexploited wild fish stocks.

Don't let anyone tell you that farming octopus would be sustainable.

No one is confused by food labels like "veggie burger" - consumers are perfectly capable of understanding what this means.

Just like they're able to recognise that peanut butter doesn't come from cows & hot dogs have nothing to do with dogs.

We're calling on Member States to reject this move.
