Can Premee even call herself an author anymore? Tsk.
Me: Slow year
Me: Only two novellas, three novelettes, and four short stories out this year, plus a handful of essays
Me: Surely I must flagellate myself for eighty-five centuries

ALLLLLLL of this. Fucking off and doing my own thing and slowly fostering a community around me of like-minded freaks and people who love books has made a world of difference for me in terms of my writing.
LRT I've been thinking a lot about how much my art leveled up when I finally found the artistic types I actually wanted to be in conversation with

it's an interesting contrast to when I was querying, most of the community had the same business goals (getting an agent etc) and not artistic intent

This is the second time in two days my debut novel has popped up unexpectedly -- hello baby, I still love you. <3 Look at your pretty finalist seal. Look how nice.
“Things that are and are not, she thinks, and the dog is a snake.”

In this fantastic and fantastical debut, @cjlavigne.com concocts a wondrous realm overlaying a city that brims with civic workers and pigeons.

But how does that help the writing process, you wonder.

It doesn’t. It helps the writer."

As Nebula nominations are opening up, I would like to offer my novelette, "Phantom View," which is free-to-read at Reactor! It's a story of disabilities and the supernatural that I've always wanted to write.
"Phantom View" is a novelette about disabled caretakers, disabled parents, and ghostliness itself being a disability. It's one of my most personal stories.

You can read it for free at @reactorsff.bsky.social!
