I remember our next door neighbours built theirs for $17000 in 1972 and we thought they were loaded! Ours cost $11000 in 1971 and it showed, lol

We moved to the US for two years and the library at my son’s primary school was great. I borrowed and reread all the SE Hinton, had forgotten how dark they are, how sad and moving, so good. Motorcycle Boy!!! Also I wish SE Hinton was on here, she was brilliant on the other site

There are so many reasons not to read Dame Jilly now but in the 1980s her books blew everything else out of the water. She made me think writing could actually be huge fun (all double entendres deliberate)

The strongest National supporter I know told me last week how worried he was that his grandson had applied for so many jobs and was still unemployed. I think this comment will infuriate even him cause he believes in work & knows people aren't sitting on the couch.
