Ok, here's the long-thread of everything I've written about NZs right-wing anti-trans movement since February 2020.

Identity Crisis - Feb 13 2020 - The Free Speech lot are extremely bad faith, a new anti-trans group sounds a lot like white supremacism.

Identity politics. It is, apparently, what is wrong with the left.

The Stancil pendulum is really oscillating wildly between "good on him" and "fuck this guy" at a rate it's hard to record.

Luxon not going to Waitangi on Waitangi Day, but going to a "community event in Auckland".

Just a reminder, the greatest living American historian filmmaker, Ken Burns, released a 720 min exploration of every facet of the American revolution using zero generative AI and paying for all of its assets instead of cobbling it from stolen data, then he gave it away for free on PBS this year.
First trailer for Darren Aranofsky's new AI animated series 'On This Day... 1776'

• Tells short narrative stories about the Revolutionary War

• Uses Gen AI tools, including tech made by Google DeepMind

• Has SAG voice actors

Minnesota really decided that they are, in fact, going to be in charge of the United States.

I mean they employ Helen Lewis who is, by quite some way, one of the stupidest British comment transphobes in a packed field of fucking idiots.

The government doesn't believe in climate change but the following things do:

- insurance companies
- saturation points for hillsides and maunga
- grieving families
- the rest of us

NZ has fallen into a 'crisis and response' pattern on climate disaster, experts say. Billions have been spent on storm recovery since 2023, while key climate adaptation funding and planning tools have been cut.

The NZ Post shop closure in my town will mean for its 13000 residents there will be one post counter crammed at the back of a paper plus.

The one they're closing is a much nicer location, more accessible, and can handle people queueing.

Why am I paying my water bill for thousands of miles of pipes? I only need to pay for the one which goes to my house. There's so many other pipes I'm not using at all, it's so wasteful.
Why does this library have thousands of books in it? I only read 10 or so a year. There's whole sections I'm not interested in an at all, it's so wasteful.

Important (we have drawn this to the attention of my in-laws in the US, who weren’t aware of it).
Reminder for all UK dual nationals:

As of the 25 Feb 2026, dual nationals will not be able to travel to the UK on their 'other' passport. If, for example, you or your dual citizen children live abroad & currently don't hold a UK passport, you need to get one (for them) in order to re-enter the UK.

Let's be 100% real here, every single one of the people posting the camera looks hard as fucking hell in this shot.
I'm starting to think the Trumpist mastery of propaganda is failing them. The DHS agents posing this way makes it look like they're ashamed of themselves.
