Wrote 344 words today. I slept most of my day off which feels like a waste, but I guess I needed it?

Not sure if I'm going to keep going or do some painting and watch another horror movie.

Holy shit that was good. Disturbing AF though. Gotta decompress from that one.
Tonight I am picking a horror movie at random so I guess we're watching BRING HER BACK.

I liked TALK TO ME so hopes are high?

1800 out of 100 words today!

I wrote a bad psilocybin trip and an awkward family brunch. Which is worse? That's for the reader to decide.

Beth just wants to get to the next moment without an intrusive thought or worry bugging her.

(From my new horror novel, MIRACLE GIRL)
Tell me more about your #AwesomeCharacters

What's your character's view on enjoying a moment?

Do they savor it, wishing it could last forever? Enjoy it but still look to the future?

Or are they fixated on the past/future too much to enjoy it at all?

Like sorry but your *checks notes* having written a book does not qualify you to make substantive comments on statistical information.
Whenever you see data, ask yourself:

1. WHO put out this data?
2. WHAT is their agenda?
3. HOW did they sample the data? Is it a random, representative sample or is there potential for significant selection bias?
4. If there is bias, HOW might it be reflected in the results?

They brought up implementing AI in our organization today (blech) and someone I don't know asked if we're considering the environmental impact and THANK GOD it's not just me!

Even in the depths of colonialism, genocide, enslavement, ethnic cleansing & holocaust, there have been white folks all over who have refused and resisted white supremacy.

We get to choose which ancestors we honor. One of my ancestors was an enslaver who sold my foremother. *I don't claim his ass.*

This was a fabulous essay about the importance of Greek and BIPOC voices in telling Greek myth, and what happens when these voices are shut out. Even if you don't vote, please read it!

I've been living in horror land for the last few months, but it's been great to go back to my fantasy roots and lift up so many amazing books.

Thanks for filling my mentions with fantasy recs!

Read the quotes and replies on this if you're looking for a new fantasy book to try! 💙📚
If you see this and agree, you are obligated to rec a book by a fantasy author who's still writing. I don't make the rules.

I mean, I do. Please though? It'd be great.
I'm always baffled by the "I'll ONLY read old fantasy" crowd.

You know there are LIVING authors doing really cool stuff, right? Like, LOTS of them? And we could get MORE if more people bought their stuff?
