truly the weirdest part of having made this show for X years is that there’s something like 10 people who have started / completed an advanced degree due in part to the show’s influence, which we partially started because of how fed up we were with academia

Those games are generally light on context and heavy on mechanics and character (neither are full sized games, and Ubi talks about them and their scope very differently than the mainline games). I think they would attempt to focus and winnow Reconstruction in a similar way and it would be a bad move

AS I WRITE IN MY BOOK (I gotta promo) that’s a really interesting case where there were so many internal debates about it that it ended up muddled. I’d be more worried about the “view from a thousand feet” perspective on reconstruction

Two conflicting thoughts about this:
1. Damn.
2. I think even with the best team and the most consistent thoughtful approach, Ubisoft would have handled this is a very weird way that would have been off putting at best.
