My cousin, Caleb Klaces, published his #secondnovel today. I was privileged to attend the book launch yesterday at @burleyfisher.bsky.social. 'Mr Outside' is a poignant, warm, sometimes funny novel set over one weekend when a young man helps his father pack to move into a care home #readingcommunity
My first thought on seeing the delightful Benedict Cucumberpatch on @thegnshow.bsky.social was, what, no three piece suit? Is this something sort of midlife crisis? 😱😉
Jane settled down on the sofa and wrapped her hands round her mug of Chai tea. Warming and fragrant. Then she saw her shelves; the books presenting a jagged profile, no longer aligned with the edge. As she stood to look closer something blew down her neck. Her spectral visitor hadn't left. #WriteCBC
Today was a typical autumn day of which Keats would be proud. I looked out of the window this morning & a layer of mist hung in mid-air, just above the garden fence. It looked v mysterious. I took a photo - of course - but it doesn't do the autumnal scene justice.

Lunch with a friend and a walk by the sea in the sunshine added up to a wonderful day off yesterday. And I wrote 250 words because, apparently, I just can't stop writing! Back to my writing desk today.

Oh, congratulations! It's such a relief when that happens. 🥳
Fabulous. Well done. It's a good feeling, isn't it?
Today is exactly the sort of autumn day I love. Cold, crisp and sunny. Dad and I decided to make the most of the glorious weather. We went out for a coffee before I started writing at a tea room on a working farm. As you can see from the picture, autumn is well underway. #autumn #pumpkins
It's been a v productive afternoon at my keyboard. I've written 1,716 words & broken the 30,000 word barrier. The 1st rewrite of my #wip is going well. I'm v pleased. But my brain has ground to a halt now, so I'm going to stop writing for today.

How is your day going?

Great news. I was just looking online for the entry dates yesterday!
Happy birthday, Kate! I hope you're having a lovely day. 🎉🎂🥳
Thank you for reposting, Kathy. 😀
I was too early, then too late to capture the #LunarEclipse2025 on my camera. I ended up with some lovely photos of the clouds at sunset and what might be the end of the eclipse. I'll just have to watch it online, I guess. 😀🌑
Why does the UK #media give #NigelFarage so much air time, but have failed to cover Jamie Raskin holding a mirror up to him and showing that he is, really, Trump 2.0? Please share. 31% of the UK population wants to vote for him. A vote for him is a vote for loss of rights & fundamental freedoms.
Nigel Farage looks uncomfortable as Jamie Raskin uses his opening statement to absolutely demolish him
United States Representative, Jamie Baskin, spoke truth to #NigelFarage this week about his proposed assault on #freedomofspeech, should he get into UK power. I haven't seen this on any news programme, yet they all give him air time. It's time to hear the other side

Thank you very much. 😀 I really enjoyed your prompt and it's got me thinking about the secrets my characters could have in my wip and, importantly, what those secrets reveal!
I'm thrilled to have earnt a shout out in this month's ##WriteCBC. Thank you to @rowancoleman.bsky.social for a fun and inspiring prompt. And many congratulations to my fellow shout out authors! Looking forward to next month's prompt. 😀

Shout-outs go to: @moomin1.bsky.social, @claredraycott.bsky.social, @ekmackinney.bsky.social & @sarahwarrilow.bsky.social 💐

And a special thank you to our guest
@rowancoleman.bsky.social for setting such a wonderful task!
#WriteCBC task from @rowancoleman.bsky.social: One way to imbue authenticity into a character is to discover their secrets. What memento do they keep in their beside drawer? Write a scene involving this memento. What subtle secret does this reveal? What does this tell you about the character?
Congratulations, @mikey27.bsky.social - a worthy winner. 🎉👏🏻🎉

Well done for having a go. Just for future reference, the mini scene you write must be no more than 300 characters and must include #WriteCBC 😀
Enid took the feather out of the drawer and ran it across the palm of her hand. The light sensation evoked the summer's day Freddie had given it to her. It was his only gift, sadly. With a sigh she pressed it to her lips. She had seen his mother get a telegram, but daren't ask what it said #WriteCBC
My pleasure. It's been great so far. Enjoy!!
