Lovely wordplay. Including the folded-in easter eggy one - that all this is TENSE.

I love the "turn" in that, from simple childhood trust to the feet-of-clay moment. We never know how deep it penetrates until we feel it, and remember how we did it to our own parents maybe thirty, forty years before.

What Ireland is doing with its financial support for creatives is an attempt to keep the flame alive. But there needs to be a much, much bigger conversation about what we - the human race - are doing to ourselves and our culture. AI should be a tool for scientists, not a replacement for artists.

All this will do is put fake art everywhere because it's cheap to produce and turn real art into a cottage industry made by the comfortable with other sources of income. This is how our civilisation dies. Murdered by technology, not freed by it. And the real culprit is corporate greed. [cont]

Bit dubious about all the comments re #TaylorSwift songs claiming they're "definitely" about this person or that event. They're certainly inspired by things in her life, but writers fictionalise, you know? Every detail won't reflect specific reality. And that actually makes it more applicable.

Like so much else this godforsaken country is doing, the treatment of Greta Thunberg detailed here is indefensible. Israel has become a Nazi tribute act. It is adopting as its own the very same cruelty that once killed and brutalised its own people.

This is clever. But as feared...maybe not clever enough.

The thing about fascism is that at heart, it's utterly risible. Stupid blokes desperately trying to build themselves up with nonsensical posturing because inside, they have nothing to offer the world.
