Hm, I don't see normal behaviour in doing 360s for a vessel in transit. Why should they? Only reason would be an almost collision - not (that)normal either, even if it's a dutch trawler (sorry, couldn't resistent ✌️). According to all info available including photos ARKTIDA is a tanker.

Then you apply for an MMSI number at the telecommunications agency and provide your registration documents. So you could apply for a 'real' MMSI with fake ship registration, simply because there are different authorities involved, that don't necessarily crosscheck the documents and/or database. 2/2
Just a thought, no idea if applicable: This 'phenomenon' could be related to the process of distributing MMSI numbers. I don't know the Gambian process, but maybe it's not that different from the process I know in some European countries. Usually you first need to get the vessel registered. ... 1/2
