#Tolkientober Day 5: Hope

For this prompt I could only think of the most truly hopeful scene in all Tolkien adaptations for me🖤🤍

Not that people can’t like things like Bc everyone has different tastes but there is a very very specific “woe is me” reaction that always makes me chuckle - tho tbh I’ve found albums through the power of people hating on twitter so ig they’re doing something productive (for me)

Like I’ve seen the same group of people go insane with “I hate this”, “this is the worst thing ever”, “this person should be forced to retire” when they’re given new music by any of a few popular (female) artists that I’m just like “that’s nice kids I’ll be back in 2 weeks when you’ve calmed down”

If it’s the one I’m thinking of the first reactions are always insane online and then after like a week reactionary twitter/tiktok users calm down it’s quite funny to watch as someone who has listened since the 2000s but wouldn’t touch the fandom with a 10ft pole

Like there is almost no correlation between fiction ‘convincing’ people that the massive aquatic predator with teeth that sometimes bites people might be dangerous and the claim that shipping a “problematic” ships gonna what?? Legalise incest and co.???

Something that always gets me about the “fiction affects reality” crowd is their determination to use “people think sharks are dangerous bc of jaws” and don’t get me wrong I am a shark lover, a shark defender, BUT I fear that their status as an apex predator might also have something to do with that
