60mph wind gusts for us, yay!! 😑

Right at school pickup time as well, and just had to cancel going to Scraplet’s last music lesson of the year. I’m so fuckin tired of this.

Fuck the home office.

Fuck these heartless bastards.

And fuck the people who have decided that pandering to the very worst in our society is a viable political stance.
this is really grim

We already have an excellent fanfic platform that works pretty fucking well, and does all of this and more.

It’s called Archive of Our Own.
no thank you.

One only has to talk to the actors to know how much they loved their costumes.

Sophia’s costume being accessible so she could breastfeed her infant daughter on set between takes.

Daniel’s story about the Stranger’s robe made by survivors of domestic violence at a women’s cooperative in India.

I don’t understand the criticism this show gets regarding costuming. It looks amazing to me! Is it because we don’t have nine hours of behind the scenes documentaries on a DVD Appendix showing off the craftsmanship to make it count as “legit”? Kate Hawley is fantastic.

Me, watching it for the first time with no prior knowledge of LOTR: wait... it's ending here?! But they haven't destroyed the Ring?!! Why is it stopping?? What do you mean it's been 3 hours?? It can't stop here! Another movie... IN A YEAR?! WTF HOW DO I WAIT THAT LONG?!

how innocent I was back then
They… they’re going to stop this movie at some point soon, right..? (Me, at the cinema on opening night, as Fellowship ends up two chapters deep into the Two Towers.)

I do like how Rings of Power took this simple throwaway idea of how the dwarves of Khazad Dum might get some light in and really ran with it.

The best thing about going to the Hobbiton set is that you can actually drink in the Green Dragon. Sure, it doesn’t look like the interior set built for the film, but who cares? You can drink in Hobbiton!

I think this one in particular deserves more eyes. (It was so far backdated, it only has 2 hits so far.) I've had this scenario in my head for a while, that Galadriel, like Granny Weatherwax in Discworld, became very powerful not out of natural talent, but out of sheer stubbornness & force of will.
I wrote some short fics based on excellent art prompts for the Scribbles & Drabbles challenge, and they all posted on the day I moved.

First, 1,225 words on Galadriel becoming a warrior following Finrod's death. "She was not a natural at this."

I still remember the electricity that shot through my body when they announced that Better Call Saul season 6 would have 13 episodes, instead of the usual 10.

Need that for Rings of Power so badly!
They should suck it up and do 10 episodes too. The new God of War show gets 10 episodes. Why not the show they love bragging about "being the mostest expensivest show ever"?

Good for her.

Anyone wearing those stupid glasses deserves to have them broken.
In terms of what’s understood to be socially acceptable behavior, normalizing the filming/taking pictures of people in public who are minding their own business (and putting it online) is one of the worst developments of the past 15 years.

Y'all I didn't even notice the similarities of the two shots until I put them together in the below post. But both say so much. #TROP
#TROPRewatch
#RingsofPower
They were apart in ep3. But they're closer now.

Just LOOK at the angle on Isildur in both shots. LOOK. They're near-identical, but he's unfocused in 3 - literally.

This attention to detail doesn't come from people who don't care about what they're making #TROPRewatch

Given the news of the Netflix+WB deal... so this is where the rights stand for JRRT's works.

Embracer has the overall Film & Merchandising rights for LOTR + TheHobbit. Given nothing is finalised yet, no idea if Netflix will continue the Film partnership with them. Be interesting to see what happens
December 5, 2025 at 8:15 PM
So Netflix also gets LOTR and the other Middle-earth films.

Wonder where this leaves Embracer and the Gollum film.
Netflix has won the bidding war to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery, and is now moving forward with a deal potentially worth over $70 billion.

Should their bid succeed, Netflix would own DC Comics, Harry Potter, Hanna-Barbera, HBO, and more.
