Banging the drum for Brum at today's Regional Investment Summit. The fact that we were chosen to be the first city outside London to host the event, underlines the fact that Birmingham is one of the most investable cities, with some of the biggest opportunities in the country.

I visited Handsworth this afternoon to shine a light on the strong sense of community spirit there. The people of Handsworth are rightly proud of their culture and heritage and anyone suggesting otherwise is simply wrong.

As my cabinet colleague @nickyebrennan.bsky.social says: These investments don't just save tenants money, they also significantly contribute to the council's net zero agenda. This scheme is a great example of how govt grant funding can be used to make homes warmer and use less carbon.
🏡 Greener, warmer homes—and lower bills!

See the difference for Bradfield House, before and after the scheme.

This two-week intensive effort brings together faith groups, charities, health services, and more, to break the cycle of rough sleeping.
