The great tragedy of present day America is that The People do not realize they are all on the same side against the ultra rich, who divide and mislead half of us, all in service of their own wealth and power.
May we The People all be singing the same song in the near future.

BREAKING: A librarian fired by in Campbell County, Wyoming, for refusing to remove LGBTQ books from shelves just got the last laugh – a $700,000 settlement for violating her first amendment rights. 👏 May this be a warning across the nation.

We’ve lost a legend. Robert Redford walked on today: actor, activist, and true ally to Indigenous people, the planet & justice. 💔

If you missed his final on-screen appearance in Dark Winds from March 2025, watch it here in my Substack tribute:

If anything, the survival of Indigenous peoples proves that holding on to humanity, even when surrounded by hate, is resistance.
Call out hate. Defend the vulnerable. Demand accountability. But don’t feed the fire with more violence. Let’s honor our ancestors by choosing life & shared humanity now.

I’m not “political.”
I’m civic-minded.
Is it protest, or civic engagement?
(I prefer the latter.)

Trees release compounds called phytoncides which can enhance mood & improve sleep. Phytoncides may even help prevent cancer. And native trees are brilliant for all sorts of wildlife - so let’s plant more trees, and cherish those we have already!

Better take a food safety course because pretty soon we’ll be completely on our own.

Most people are not familiar with what CDC actually does, but a lot of money goes out the door to support state public health labs where the bulk of infectious disease work is done. State public health labs where the rubber meets the road…this is devastating.

This makes me both sad and angry. Imagine being hauled off with no warning and all you were doing was sitting on a park bench — looking Brown.

What Newsom is doing is important and I’m glad he’s showing what “having guts” looks like. But the Presidency is not a thank you gift. It’s a promise to meet the needs of working people and I want to know what each candidate plans to do and whether their record lends credence to their promises.

I think about how my grandmother grew her own food and also foraged wild food. We drank wild water. When you live that way your entire life, your body and the land are inseparable. How does this affect us spiritually and emotionally when we are not connected to place through our food and water?🙏💕

The part about 3 meals a day really provides some food for thought. I wonder about the significance of breaking that intimate connection to the land when food is provided from elsewhere like commodity boxes or grocery store food which come from all over the world.
