To borrow a phrase from that Dr Pepper commercial, I now have a side team. Congratulations to IU. What an impressive season.

If this CFP championship game has taught me anything, it’s that I apparently have no clue what pass interference really is.

Miami defense got me rooting even harder for IU. That was a cheap shot on Mendoza.

Prime example of this ineptitude: the CECOT segment on “60 Minutes” she delayed allegedly to solicit comments from the White House. It aired last night finally, and the responses from the admin were quite literally things like, “we’re not going to answer your questions, that would be insane.”
This is the heart of it. Both-sizing because you don't know what to do. www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...

Can someone please tell the subtitlers that in Georgia it’s spelled “Dawgs”?

This one will.
Carson Beck will play his final college game next Monday. Will Georgia football fans root against the former Bulldog QB in CFP title game?

“Venezuela will only be purchasing American made products with the money made from its deal with the U.S. over oil production.” Taking someone else’s shit by force and only giving it back when they agree to give you a cut is straight-up mob behavior.

I’m 1/3 of the way through this one and good god, if it isn’t one of the best novels I’ve started in a long while. So finely written, such full characters. One thing @keithrosson.bsky.social understands deeply: it doesn’t matter what horrors befall a character if you don’t first care about them.

As someone whose son grew up with “Stranger Things” and is now off at college, all of this season’s little flashbacks to when they were younger kids just *killed* me.
January 6, 2026 at 3:52 AM
One standout element for me of “Stranger Things” season five, as with all the seasons, is the original score—moody, urgent, synth-heavy. Reminds me a lot of the score Johann Johannsson (RIP) did for the film “Mandy.”

For all its flaws, “Stranger Things” season five gets one thing unassailably right: Kate Bush’s music saves lives.
