Oh damn. 🧅🧅
Going to end on one of the most beautiful commercials ever made with the reminder and a call to remember the small things. They make a big difference to others.

Love all, help all.

It’s not unusual for affidavits to be drafted by counsel. But the witness should understand every word of that testimony and confirm it’s true before signing under penalty of perjury. The slapdash nature of the DOJ these days is shocking.
A senior ICE official just admitted in an evidentiary hearing in Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s case that someone else drafted his declaration in the case and he didn’t know what certain words meant.

“[Y]ou have to get up, every day, and engage in creating for its own sake. You can’t control anything about the outcome . . . If nobody else gives a fuck about this but me, is it still worth doing? The answer has to be yes.”

Amen and amen.

Tonight’s viewing. A Hitchcockian mystery of the highest order, laced with Bong Joon Ho’s absurdist humor and a deep, deep sadness.

For those of us who paid attention in 2008, this will sound awfully familiar.
WSJ: “.. If the AI market blows up, the blast radius would be wide, hitting not only Wall Street firms, but also pensions, mutual and exchange-traded funds and individual investors, because of how debt is often sliced and resold across the financial landscape.”

Raskin: We are a big tent. We must be a huge, vast tent. I say this is a party that’s got room for Marjorie Taylor Greene if she wants to come over.

Halfway through this short series and am hooked. It’s this quirky blend of somber and funny that I did not expect. The whole cast is great, but Matthew Macfayden acts his ass off.

Local TV news station just interviewed a woman upset by the new THC limitations in federal law. Her solution: “I’m just going to smoke me a little spliff and put it in the Lord’s hands.” Greatest single sentence I’ve ever heard.

Devastating piece on CBS Sunday Morning today regarding the working homeless. It gives the lie to the lazy refrain that the unhoused should just “get a job.” Maybe, just maybe, the problem isn’t laziness but cracks in our economic structure large enough that even the employed slip through.
When the employed are pushed into homelessness
In America we are taught hard work is the key to success. But despite having full-time jobs, many families are locked out of the rental housing market, due to low wages, soaring rents and poor credit,...
