What will we do when he orders the FBI to raid election facilities in key states in November?
The president of the United States had his Justice Dept. raid an election office and seize ballots in order to cast doubt on an election he lost. Yet, this is treated by legacy media as just another normal day.

This is all part of the plan
Ossoff: "This is a seismic event. This should have people across the country absolutely shook. This is a huge deal. This is an FBI raid on the Fulton County Elections office ... This is a shot across the bow at the midterm elections. He tried to steal power when he lost it in 2020."

It is very concerning that our leadership doesn’t know what to do except for call for “something’s gotta happen.”
Rand Paul: "There has to be an investigation. I don't know who trusts an investigation done by DHS when they're the ones calling this person an 'assassin,' a 'domestic terrorist,' saying he was assaulting police. How can they be in charge of an independent investigation? Something's got to happen."

But, Ashli Babbitt is a hero to these people is all you need to know.
ABC: Noem said Pretti committed an act of domestic terrorism. Stephen Miller labeled him a domestic terrorist. Does the president agree?

LEAVITT: I have not heard the president characterize Mr Pretti in that way

Amid these dark moments, something important is beginning to shift.

It's clearly the result of healthy political pressure - which we must sustain, and build.

I say again, this does not even approach a scintilla of the accountability that is required. These are PR moves.

Exactly right.

Bovino's leaving? Great, get Noem to resign.

Noem resigns? Great, defund and dismantle ICE.

Go after Stephen Miller too. Bring charges against ICE thugs at the state and local level. Lawsuits. New state laws restricting them.

Every possible angle.
They are wounded and flailing. Press the advantage.

The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

Immigration enforcement can be, and has been, accomplished without needless suffering.
Jacob Frey on Fox & Friends: "We have had perhaps tens of thousands of people peacefully protesting in the streets, and at the same time yeah, they're gonna stand up for their neighbors. And what we're seeing time and time again is unconstitutional conduct by ICE."

I hope they are spending millions on consultants designing strategies to work every leverage against this administration.
In case anybody on Capitol Hill is wondering, the mood right now out here in the hinterlands is for Democrats not to miss votes.

Especially since so many Republicans are out that Dems could pretty much stop anything with full attendance.

We are paying attention.

What are the odds that “immigrants voting” is the excuse for why ICE is charged with seizing the ballot boxes.

Still bothered by the “well, I’ll speak up now that it’s affecting me” mantra of the privilege few.
The Clintons are betting that by the time their subpoena is litigated, we will have a Dem majority in the house that will withdraw the subpoena. A pretty good bet.
Breaking NYT:

The Clintons have refused to testify in the House's Epstein investigation — effectively daring James Comer to follow through on his threats to hold them in contempt.

"Every person has to decide when they have seen or had enough and are ready to fight … For us, now is that time."

Is the suffering necessary?
ICE has essentially been granted permission to kill without the fear of facing consequences.

After you shake your head and refocus your eyes...read that again.

Lead or step aside!
Q: Is it your posture to put restrictions on ICE as a condition for funding DHS?

JEFFRIES: Renee Good should be alive. There was no justification. There are common sense measures that need to put in place so ICE can conduct itself in manner at least consistent w/ every other law enforcement agency

This is the kind of resistance and push back we need to see more of from leadership inside and outside the US

Me too but I wonder if it is time that we stop giving any air to those people. Maybe if we ignore trying to convince those people and just keep focusing on calling out all the bullshit!!
It blows me away that there are still people out there with functioning brains who don’t take his deranged threats seriously. Maybe they will figure this all out in 3 more years.

I am so angry that I still get shocked that pedophile supporters can morally justify these ICE murders.
The message from the White House this morning is that, once again, it falls on ordinary American citizens to remain calm and professional when dealing with the heavily armed agents of the government because they are very emotional and might fly off into a murderous rage at the slightest insult.

The great @johncusack.bsky.social on why news organizations shouldn't paywall FOIA-based reporting: "Paywalls don’t just limit readership, they create kind of a tiered citizenry, where one group can afford to know what the government is doing in their name and the other can’t."
John Cusack wants to talk about paywalls.
The movie star says that by selling their public-records-based reporting, news outlets are compromising one of journalism’s essential civic roles.
