The entire plot of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater happened to me but entirely within an REI Co-Op
i still think its very funny we got a star wars series helmed by an eu novel superfan that clearly loved Darth Plagueis and strove to make it all compliant within that framework and all the prequel meme heads who love referencing that line hated it because the lead was a black woman

sometimes i love intentionally buying or grinding my own coffee finer than recommended for a french press so the coffee comes out really thick and sort of sludgy

when you consider that most droids are fully sentient beings then you realize that Jawas are effectively just kidnapping homeless people and selling them into slavery and it's actually a good and noble act when the tusken raiders hunt them for sport

Sort of shameful for me to admit this but i really enjoy watching those ai generated dark fantasy reels on instagram. I never give them engagement but i just enjoy the way they look. It makes me feel like a bug fascinated by a bug zapper but that’s just how it is

I think the only thing i truly miss about the time when i was unhealthily into Destiny 2 is being a raid sherpa. That was great

“I don’t have time to explain why I don’t have time to explain” is a dumb line that people rightfully made fun of but it’s a shame people didn’t appreciate the rest of the mystique around the stranger and where she came from and then we got a relatively boring answer in d2

Its really funny replaying the early destiny 1 Hive quests knowing there’s a pyramid ship down the hall and to the left and that one of these mountains has a vex gate in it

It’s been ruined with modern destiny’s overexposed lore but a great presentation thing early D1 did with the hive was blurring the lines between ritual and military operations. Are these acolytes just praying to a dark god or are they reaching out to the rest of the empire? Is there a difference?
The Hive in destiny 1 are one of the coolest factions in any sci-fi thing ever. The HR Giger tech with a little bit of deep sea organic stuff thrown in. The implications of how big and ancient their empire is. The way that at first they were the only faction besides you that had magic.

Destiny 1 very clearly places you at the end of history in a world with millennia of history. Theres so much you will never learn, you are small, and everything sort of sucks. You find hope in spite of that. Destiny 2 by contrast seems terrified that you might ever not know something about the world
The two ways are art style and how the universe is presented. D2 is a fortnite style mishmash of 100 different art styles and by now there’s 0 mystery or sense of scale left in the universe

Destiny 1 is a worse game than 2 in like 8/10 ways but my god do those last two ways really matter
