A reminder that the brutal occupation of #WestPapua and the ongoing persecution of Indigenous Papuans is a horror that is largely undocumented & invisibilised. Like so much black suffering, furthest away in proximity to Whiteness, their revolution has NOT been televised.

You have to have a pretty high care factor to participate in local government elections. I came pretty close to losing all my fucks to give.

I've seen the ballot boxes at the supermarket about 5 times & vowed to bring the orange envelope on my next visit. Then I visited the library, forgot the bastard thing again. So visited another library, got there at 5.02pm, closed. Finally drove to Pak n Save yesterday for the only reason of voting.

Principled positions are great, but where is the community you serve and represent, and why are our voting rates abysmal :( These are systemic issues maybe beyond the scope of local government, but the system is broken, and I wonder if it even matters who is inside trying to drive it...

Neo feudalism and megacorps are betting everything on getting all of us addicted to low effort dopamine and paths of least resistance. Organizing and movements are important, but I think it's going to be equally important to retrain our brains to pursue joy that exists further than one click away.

Ikr, it’s mostly for connections with my Fijian family, but I have to engage for this new job and it’s reminding me why I deactivated my account for years. Hostile as fuck, and foul foul vibes.

Commenting on anything on Facebook, and any mainstream social media platform, is such painful crawl over broken glass down pigeon brain boulevard.

I cannot can.

Mum just repatriated an oil painting I made in 2001 called “Phallus Palace” that has been missing for 20 years! Unfortunately it’s a bit fucked but somehow, some way, we will be reunited! I can’t wait to see this big angry work I made when I was an 18 year old baby feminist Suva gyal!

I just happened to see my Sāmoan neighbour receiving his UberEats delivery from a little old Asian lady who said ‘Malo ‘aupito!’ as she returned to her car 😛 Kia ora South Auckland with our blurred ethnic lines 🥰🫠

Any New Zealander who doesn’t see a problem with this requires a in-depth cultural literacy education. Pākehā domination is not acceptable anymore. The voices of diversity in this country are no longer something Pākehā systems can suppress. To see the face of Pākehā domination in 2025 is chilling.

“For those of us who’ve been pressured to assimilate into Pākehā culture, it’s tempting to think that assimilating into Māori culture is respectful. But this is not what’s being asked of us.” — Mengzhu Fu.

Over the next couple weeks we'll be posting some milestones from our decade long practice. It's been some time since the collective was active on social media. We're keen to get re-acquainted with our online community. Feel free to ask us any questions 🙂☺️
