The Absolute Universe is really Marvel's Age of Apocalypse. Both are a result of a prime character disappearing from the main universe and creating an alternative worse timeline where characters behave differently. There are even time displaced characters: Booster Gold/Bishop.

When #AbsoluteBatman was released, everyone, including myself, thought DC was taking a page from Marvel and rebooting their universe similar to the Ultimate Universe. But after reading #AbsoluteEvil, I can see what DC is really doing...1/2

#Shredder #1 by @danpgwatters.bsky.social and Michele Bandini. Oroku Saki AKA Shredder has returned to New York after along absence. He has found his Foot Clan has been taken over by his former pupil, Mourner. Great introduction and art. Long time TMNT fans will get the "worms" references.

#XMex #AgeOfRevelation #Overture #1 by Jed MacKay, Ryan Stegman & JP Mayer. Another year and another future apocalypse story where mutants are the cause. Good guys become bad guys & vice versa. Wash, Rinse and Repeat. This issue was decent but I am unsure of my internet in this.

#ColdSlither #1 by @hackintimseeley.bsky.social and Juann Cabal. Comic based on the band and plot from the G.I. Joe cartoon. If you are not fimilar, the comic does a good job catching you up. The narrative is told as a "We Are They Now" doc on the band. Very fun with great art.

Since it's #SpookySeason I decided to watch some scary movies starring with #Presence. This is a experimental Soderbergh movie of a family moving into a new house that is haunted by a spirit. The movie is shot from the ghosts POV. It's slow paced and flawed but had a good story.

#AbsoluteGreenLantern #7 by Al Ewing, Jason Howard and Riley Rossmo. When I started reading this comic, I wasn't expecting to get lore as deep and intense as Warhammer 40K, but I am still loving this comic. I included the opening page as it tries to explain how the lanterns work.

#Venom #250 by Al Ewing, Terry Dodson and Todd Nauck. Deep Espionage Agent, Captain R'Gars, Power Skrull, Third-Class, discovers Knull is back and quickly taking over deep space. R'Gars knows he must get to Earth to get Venom involved. But where is Knull? Pretty good read.

#Batman #2 by Matt Fraction and @jorgejimenezart.bsky.social. Bruce teaches Tim how to drive a car with a stick which turns out to be fortuitous when an over zealous Gotham cop shoots and incapacitates Batman so Robin must drive the Batmobile. The explanation of 13 gears was pretty funny.

#Superman #30 by @joshuawilliamson.bsky.social and Dan Mora. After Superboy Prime's betrayal, Superman is captured by Darkseid's Legion. The Legion plan on killing Booster Gold (Dan Jurgens is going to be mad! 😆). How can an imprisoned Superman stop this? Recommend.

#GehennaNakedAggression #4 by Patrick Kindlon and Maurizio Rosenzweig. Gehenna uses her ingenuity to gain arms for her final confrontation with Kamiisa and Isa (if they don't kill each other first). This is the end of the 1st story arc but it ends of a huge cliffhanger. Recommend.

#Escape #2 by @remender.bsky.social & Daniel Acuña. Milton is trapped behind enemy lines planning what could be his final mission. He remembers what he's fighting for: his wife and how he met her. His unborn son and what can happen to the world if he fails. Another great issue. Recommend.
