Today the flag of the Pitcairn Islands is flying in New Palace Yard to mark Bounty Day - which commemorates the anniversary of the mutiny on the British ship HMS Bounty in 1789.

Located in the southern Pacific Ocean, this British Overseas Territory is one of the most remote communities on earth.
