i hear a sentiment from other game devs sometimes that after working on games they don't feel able to play games on their own for fun as much anymore and i just... can't relate to that.
i love playing games so much. the games are why i'm here and i love them and that hasn't diminished at all.

Unbeatable has a bad habit of throwing notes at you faster than it's possible to react to when switching sides, especially during fight sequences

okay so. Unbeatable. played it for a couple hours. story mode has some *really* rough writing/pacing/polish issues. the fundamental rhythm gameplay is solid though and the main action setpiece song sequences are kind of peak. cannot bring myself to hate it for the other stuff.

it's interesting to me how much kirby air riders feels like just a straight sequel to the original game. no gimmicks no big formula reinventions they just made a normal-ass video game-ass video game sequel.
it feels like kind of an outlier among new nintendo games in that way.
