The Straight Road cycle lane is awful and leaves people stranded while trying to cross a busy road.

Meanwhile, the same road (N22) has light segregation, an inner kerb, and a toucan x'ing a few km away.

Please sign this petition to call for safer cycling to Bcollig.

Thank you to Cllr Ciara O'Connor of @labourpartyireland.bsky.social who has kindly offered to raise the concerns and wishes of everyone who signed this petition with City Hall.

🤞 For positive news in the coming weeks

“He said that though the cycle route would increase in terms of distance, much of this would be downhill so it would not be a huge addition to journey time”

It’s a very handy cycle lane if it’s downhill in both directions.

It's hard enough to encourage people to commute to work/school/college in the winter due to the weather and darkness.

However there's another variable that we can control (maintenance of bike lanes) which unfortunately, is often neglected.

Well, here we are.

Bishop Lucey Park has reopened after a two-year closure and redesign. And it’s very good to have this space available again.

I’m trying very hard to find the positives (there are some), but overall it is a sad failure for the public and for urban green space in Cork.

"an unprecedented 600 submissions with 94 per cent in favour of the Greenway as opposed to years earlier when the vast majority of the only 50 submissions made were negative.”

Injunctions, false starts, and one man's unwavering commitment to the Waterford GW.

Cork is a leafy city (in parts), but so are most other European cities north of the Alps.

Bike lane, Greenway, and footpath sweeping in Oct/Nov/Dec should be better than ↙️, ideally like the ↘️ photos from 🇫🇷 last week.
