This is more powerful than any school poetry class or church sermon I endured in childhood in 1990s Cambridge. (I still haven’t forgiven John Major’s Government because I can hold a teenage-era grudge like the elephant that never forgets! (I think it’s a neurodiversity thing))

In 1811-12, the Luddites attempted to resist some of the first waves of machine-industrialisation. They were crushed.

20 years later "pauper apprentices" (= orphan children) were being SOLD to factory-owners as cheap labour.

Think on, dear hearts, think on.

Just because someone lives a long time doesn’t mean they are smart. Man in his late 70s watching my dog frolic in a pond: “ makes me cold just watching him! Must be 10 below zero in there!” I didn’t reply, out of respect but my goodness. And no, there was no ice, snow or frost anywhere.

I’m in France and I got a weather alert in metric. I don’t know if it’s supposed to be worrisome or not. 38mm in an hr? In the states, that would mean bullets.🤷🏻‍♀️

Remember: The oligarchs who control our economy and democracy seek to divide us so they can become more powerful.

They want us to turn on each other so we don't look up and see where all the wealth and power have gone.

Don't fall for it.

Finland ended homelessness with a housing first strategy that gave people apartments before they secured employment

Now they’re proposing a 4 day work week and 6 hour work days

True work life balance

Meanwhile in the US, people work two jobs and can’t afford food or healthcare.

We now have an unprecedented level of income & wealth inequality.

It isn’t acceptable that the top 1% owns more wealth than the bottom 93%, while a majority of Americans live paycheck to paycheck.

We must stand together & create an economy that works for all, not just the few.
