Not a fan of Edison, but I saw that he posted this sign around his factory.

I've had to visit LinkedIn a few times during the past week. 95% of the posts are either generated by AI or are extolling its virtues.

I spend much of my attention on games.
I know their importance to us as humans.

And I am aware of their insignificance as well.

I simply cannot imagine any game, including any sport, that is intrinsically more important than the rights and dignities of the individual people who would play them.

After moving to penny-free Canada, I found that I missed having a cheap, durable coin for board game prototyping.

My woke takes.

Tax all private golf courses. (You'd be DISGUSTED to discover the breaks they get)

Convert the US to metric.

Make lawns a point a shame.

Allow victims of guns and tobacco to sue the manufacturers.

Deeply restrict the powers of the President. (I.e., abolish executive orders)
Abolish daylight savings.

Mandatory sidewalk continuity.

Every bus stop should have a dedicated pickup lane and adequate protected seating.

Divert % of a city's pro sports revenue to their libraries, museums, and parks.

Deduct state lotto jackpots from billionaire accounts.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

There will be copies of "3 Witches" for sale at PAXU, but not A LOT of them. I don't know whether they'll be released incrementally over the 4 days or all at the start. If you want a copy before they're generally available in December, may plan accordingly.

Give more credit to graphic designers. Their job is thankless. Nobody knows who they are or what they do UNLESS something goes very wrong.

E.g., I bought 1 game at Essen. When I opened it I discovered critical iconography was tiny and buried in a textured background. So bad I threw it out.

The Wicked special that aired last week on NBC (streaming now on Peacock) was phenomenal.
It made me miss the days of the “variety show.” It’s just a treat to see wildly talented people sing, dance,
and tell a few stories/jokes. The audience participation is key.

Slapping together my list of people to meet at PAXU. Any takers?

Hehehe. Danielle Standring is a treasure. High-tempo, bawdy Essen summary. Loved her reaction to 3W at the 1 minute mark.

Question for PAXU attendees:

My badge is listed as "Will Call". I've downloaded the digital version to my Apple Wallet. For Essen, that was all that was needed.

Does PAXU require you to stand in line for a physical badge like Gen Con/Origins?

I got spoiled with the Essen app.

I just looked up the "PAX Nav" app. The reviews are... not good.

Anyone tried the most recent version? It sounds like it was a hot mess last year.

I'm attending PAXU, but only on Saturday. First time in over a decade. Looking forward to it.
