Watched THE TERMINATOR, been a few years. James Cameron always was a master of pacing and raising stakes. While he still can, I miss the punk rock director who made this. You can’t be a punk forever, just not how it works. Everyone puts on the suit eventually. It’s all in how you wear it.

i also think people are misunderstanding what's going on here if they think it's about CNN
if it was just about CNN, Ellison could wait out the WB Discovery split or just make an offer for CNN, but while he also *wants* CNN, he's set himself up to "need" the WB studio

my opinion is that, on balance, the Netflix deal is worse for its much wider, global implications as a monopoly, but tbh, with insane egotistical behaviour like this, you almost kinda just trust Netflix more to act like a rational industry player, but my god... how bleak

My big takeaway from last night as well. Had this been the cut released in ‘03, I don’t know how you deny her an Oscar nomination. It’s a total performance.
Having had some time to ruminate on KILL BILL: THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR, I gotta tell you, Uma Thurman is electric. I didn’t appreciate it enough at the time of release but god damn. She’s acting her ass off the whole time and looking incredible doing it.
