Also, the "huge uproar[...]some reason" is so dismissive. The "journalist" did not even bother trying to genuinely find out why the community was so outraged. Attributing it to amorphous, random reasons invalidates actual concerns over using a harmful tool (if you want to call it one).

besides the obvious near-term concrete win here (congratulations Blue Prince, new winner of GOTY) I appreciate this also hopefully makes ultra clear to newer teams that even if their work was as well received as Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, AI'll make it ineligible or get an asterisk in awards shows

Related to this disaster of a move by @girlswhocode.bsky.social, is there an organization/non-profit focused on increasing the number of women in computer science that we could support instead?
Pretty disappointed in both @humblebundle.com and especially in @girlswhocode.bsky.social. Please teach girls how to code, don't push them into generative AI. That won't build their skills. Prioritize foundational programming skills and awaken their interest. "Tired of long days writing code"???

not to beat a dead horse but i also think that inexperienced, aspiring devs think concept art is polished and clean which is simply not true. it doesn't help that artbooks and promo material often show very well-rendered images as concept work. there's a lot of scribbling during the initial phases.
