I can sum up my thoughts in an image, though:
Dracula reading a book he doesn't like

clicked on this because I'm morbidly curious whenever I see REALLY long titles, and my God that summary is dire. I can't imagine anyone really wanting to read this dreck, let alone write it.

In a rare moment of lucidity, mangadex comments seem to have the right of it. I have nothing else to add.
Ah, yet another "boring passive guy who has a power that everyone thinks is trash so they bully him but his power is actually stupidly overpowered for no damn reason despite the fact that he didn't do anything to deserve such power, yet all the bullies continue to look down on him because they have Plot Induced Stupidity" story.

It's as bad as the rest of them. Move along everybody, you can find something better to read. Not a high bar to exceed.

Exiled in a Class Trial for "Poor Dexterity": Because He was Dexterous, He Lived on His Own. Because of His Dexterity, He was Able to Use All the Skills and Magic of the Higher Ranks, Making Him Invincible. I Decided to Live on My Own, but the People Around Me Wouldn't Leave Me Alone.
The boy Leopin was born with unnaturally high dexterity. From an early age, he used his dexterity to contribute to his peers in a variety of crafts. Leopin and his friends entered the Royal Pioneer Academy. However, during the "Ritual of Ability Development" at the entrance ceremony, the status given to Leopin was disastrous.

"Occupation: Unemployed."
"All statuses except dexterity remain at their initial values and do not grow."
"Skill is dexterous, master of none."

Leopin's classmates exiled him because he had nothing to offer other than his dexterity. Leopin is placed in the "Special Training Class", a class for failures. Leopin is left all alone. However, he realizes that the skill he has been given, "Poor Dexterity," has an unexpected performance. That is...

You can convert your dexterity status to any other status.
You can change your occupation to any one you want.

The first thing Leopin did was to become a lumberjack. First, Leopin changed his job to "Lumberjack" to get wood from the forest. He then became a carpenter and built the most magnificent house of all. He became an Appraiser to identify rare items, and a Battle Axe User to fight off students from other classes who tried to attack him. Become a Ranger to explore dungeons and a Ninja to get through traps with ease. Leopin, alone (solo), had gained enough power to do everything.

As Leopin continues to be a warrior, he is adored by his childhood friend, a saint, and admired by a beautiful alchemist, and his activities become even more well known. On the other hand, the classmates who expelled Leopin regret their decision to do so when they witness Leopin's abilities. Their home remains a shack, they are unable to explore, and they gradually lose their place in the school and are ruined.

oh they needed a good STAB move, sure, but I'm just confused why Gamefreak felt the need to drastically revamp an old move. Instead of just... make a new move. It's not like they don't already make a dozen moves every generation anyway, many of them using reskins of other animations.

a very funny company. Why they choose to do the things they do sometimes, eludes me.

and how about when they gave a bunch of low-tier Pokemon +10 in some stat

Arbok with 95 atk instead of 85, yep that's really gonna be the difference maker!

hell yeah +10 hp for Magcargo, just what I've been asking for ;)

thinking about when Gamefreak changed Leech Life's base power from 20 to 80, just so that the new mosquito pokemon could have a cool STAB move. They then had to rework Zubat's learnset to get Absorb instead, cuz NuLeechLife at lvl 5 would be crazy.

but, why not just make a new move for Buzzwole?

did you know that the very first Digimon video game (Aside from the keychains) was a Sega Saturn-exclusive reimagining of the vpet keychains with a full simulated OS and internet in it?

I live for this stuff, it's SO cool

few candies were more fun to eat as a kid than Bubble Tape. Aside from any of the other stuff you can do with any bubblegum, you could take small bites to save it throughout the day, pull a big long strip and swing it around, or just chomp through the side of the roll like a maniac.

or how often I'd see Neo the Magic Swordsman in people's decks, even though La Jinn and 7 Colored Fish had been out for ages!

and I'm not talking about the shitty cards that sucked and never worked, I just mean the sub-optimal picks that were common and "good enough" so they saw a ton of play, even though there were plenty of BETTER common cards available, too.

Like, playing Draining Shield instead of Sakuretsu Armor.

thinking about yugioh cards that everybody played in middle school, because we didn't understand quite what good deckbuilding was yet.

like sure, Big Bang Shot will sometimes do SOMETHING and might even potentially win you the game, but probably you should just play a removal spell instead

yeah idk why I ignored it for so long. But somehow it doesn't fall into the same nostalgia bucket for me as other power cards from the same era.

wait a minute, it was even in that Fury from the Deep structure deck. I *had* that structure deck. Did I just think it was a bard card because it could destroy MY OWN monsters, or what...?
poondonkus.bsky.social
bizarrely, this was a card that I didn't even know existed until I played Nightmare Troubador on the DS. Nobody at my school used it in their decks. Was it really that rare back in the early days?

Maybe this is only news to me, but signal boosting this anyway because it can't be understated what a treasure trove this archive of Game Freak's zines is. These volumes only show up VERY occasionally online and command a lot of money; obtaining a full set to scan would've cost thousands of dollars.
