- Learn self-hosting for myself

Is there no repo that offers Luau-based Roblox engine service alternatives?

I wrote an offline datastore emulator last night and it occurred to me I currently have 2 libraries that can serve to run in place of roblox services.

I would either like to contribute those or start a new repo.

ShaderBeam is a legitimately interesting tool for if you have a high refresh rate display; It simulates a CRT display pretty damn well in that it provides better motion clarity github.com/mausimus/Sha...

I gave it a go on Quake 1 yesterday and it's pretty legit

This is the last recorded video I have of it; I had implemented valve's dithering method to help improve convergence particularly with transparent objects.

I am still incredibly happy at how quick it can converge into a plausible image, but realtime was my goal.

I do kinda miss working on my pathtracer, it was a stepping stone in helping me approach things with a lower level computing mindset. Maybe I'll revisit it because I know that Roblox themselves have been improving performance in ways that help address the pathtracer...

I’ll be spending this time getting acquainted with some new gear I got from my partner, one of them being a split keyboard!

They’re supposed to have ergonomic benefits over traditional keyboards, which should help in the long run.

I need to honestly thank the Forsaken team for approaching us and wanting to collaborate because their update kicks ass too

I can say with confidence that a lot of the teething issues in establishing a team-based workflow for FE2 (Which was held up solely by myself, apologies) is more-or-less sorted!

We worked on improving how we expose player data in the code and as a result we'll be able to focus on iteration in 2026.
