I did it. I ordered the LEGO Enterprise D. I had a family member offer to give me cash towards part of it as my holiday gift from them. I'm also going to cut back on my art budget a bit at my local comic con next year to help with the sticker shock. Damn. But I want it so much!!!

We are now further away from the theatrical release of Raiders of the Lost Ark (June 12, 1981) than it was from the year it takes place in (1936). We have reached the Indiana Jones event horizon.

I've been in the non-author side of the book trade for 10 years. From a bookseller and buyer at an indie to working for a book distribution company. This is so true!!!!
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

I went to a Oddities and Curiosities expo today. Found an amazing Fiji Mermaid taxidermy that was sadly out of my price range. But I got a really fun Evil Dead shirt and some new hair clips!

I know a lot of people don't like mayo, but if you do like mayo here's a tip. Go to a restaurant supply store or a bulk store like Sam's or Costco and buy the "heavy" mayo. It's going to be a huge container, but it's super cheap and so much better than regular mayo. At least in my family's opinion.
